Turning Volunteerism into Opportunity

Our Volunteer2Work initiative is for both community volunteers and clients in recovery who are ready to build routine, gain experience, and give back in meaningful ways. It provides meaningful pathways for individuals to build confidence, contribute to the community, and gain valuable experience that supports recovery, healing, and reintegration. Whether you’re just starting out or re-entering the workforce, this program offers a stepping stone toward stability and self-sufficiency.

We also work with individuals completing community service hours through probation. These participants play an important role in our programs—contributing time, energy, and care to the community as part of their commitment to accountability and personal growth. Their involvement helps foster safer, more compassionate neighbourhoods while reducing stigma and creating shared understanding.

Clean Up Program

Based at our clinic in Maple Ridge, the Clean Up Program engages participants in daily efforts to clean and maintain Lougheed Highway from 223rd to 224th Street. The program fosters responsibility and pride in keeping our shared spaces clean, while supporting individuals through structure and purpose.

Participants can also help with light property cleanup, organizing spaces, small repairs, and community upkeep.

The program is open to:

  • Clients building structure into their recovery
  • Individuals completing probation or community service hours
  • Volunteers seeking to make a hands-on difference

We have an immediate need for $10,000, to support our community cleanup program. Your support would directly impact our ability to continue building a healthier, more connected Maple Ridge.

Our Community Program invites individuals to contribute to a variety of activities across our organization, including:

  • Food sorting and distribution
  • Event setup and support
  • Community outreach assistance
  • Daily operational support at the clinic or housing sites

This is ideal for individuals completing community service hours, volunteering as part of their recovery journey, or simply giving back to make a difference. Volunteers are treated with respect and valued as essential members of our team.

The Peer Program supports individuals with lived experience in addiction or mental health recovery who are ready to support others walking a similar path. Peer volunteers offer emotional support, share their stories, and help others navigate services in a compassionate and relatable way.

We provide mentorship, team support, and leadership-building opportunities for those interested in growing within the peer support field.

Some volunteers give back by preparing home-cooked meals for clients in recovery. These warm, thoughtful meals help our clinic and housing clients feel cared for, especially on weekends when other services are limited.
